Iriomote island Pinaisara falls super view

A characteristic of this tour is you can see the largest mangrove forest in Japan while paddling a kayak and you can hike to top of the 55 metre high waterfall. First, you kayak for about 40 minutes, and then you hike to top of the waterfall for about 50 minutes. You can see a excellent view from top of the waterfall. Let’s take some fantastic photos and have a tasty lunch.

After lunch, you will go to the waterfall basin. On a hot summer day you can swim waterfall basin. Enjoy some Okinawan snack during your break. Finally, you will go back to the real world after kayaking and hiking.

Tour Schedule

9:00		 pick up pick up We will pick you up at the port or accommodation at the time we had promised. Then go to the base, we will orientation meeting before starting the tour. When all preparations are completed, it is time to start.
AM9:40 paddle practice Paddle practice After practicing how to use a paddle, get on the canoe floating in the river. Don’t worry about kayaking, even if you are a beginner. Iriomote’s river has very weak currents, next to nothing. Kayaking is easy and enjoyable.
AM10:00 kayaking Kayaking *45min First, maybe you can’t control your kayak, but it is not a problem. Take it easy! You will gradually get the hang of kayaking. When you will see the Pinaisara falls came into view, let’s take some souvenir photos.
AM10:50 hiking Hiking *50min Let’s hike to top of the Pinaisara falls. Watch your step, especially when it is raining. In Iriomote jungle, there are many interesting trees and creatures. Our guide will explain them to you during the hike.
AM11:40 top of the waterfall Arrive at top of the waterfall We finally arrive at top of the waterfall. You can see a excellent view. At the time, please listen carefully to what your guide about to say. While you are having a break, your guide will cook delicious lunch. It is Okinawan style noodle. After lunch, you go down the mountain and go to the waterfall basin. It takes about 1 hour.
PM1:30 waterfall basin Arrive at the waterfall basin We have arrived at waterfall basin. Please take a break while watching a beautiful Pinaisara falls. If it is hot day like summer, you can into the waterfall basin. Your kids can enjoy it too, but we must wear a life vest while swimming in the basin. If you are a little hungry, eat a delicious snack.
PM2:30 Kayaking Kayaking *45min It’s almost time finish. We are a little sad, but we will feel so happy and relaxed.
PM4:00 tour finish Finish After taking a shower and change clothes, we will give you a ride to Uehara port or your accommodation.

  • Towel
  • A change of clothes *Please bring underwear too.
  • Drinking water *At least 1.5 liter during the hot season. You can also buy it at our shop.

  • Sunglasses *If you have one.
  • Glasses or contact lenses spares *If you are wearing glasses or contact lenses, bring spares during the tour.
  • Insect repellent spray *If you are not good at insects.
  • If you bring a camera to the tour, please manage at your own risk.
Clothes
  • Casual clothing is OK. Your clothes will get dirty and wet during the tour.
  • To protect from UV, insects and injury, we recommend long sleeves.
  • You can swim in the waterfall basin on hot days, so please wear swimsuit under your clothes beforehand.
  • It is cooler during the winter on Iriomote Island, and it is often windy, so a windbreaker is very useful.

Weather
condition
  • The tours will go ahead in conditions of light rain, which is frequent, and will only be cancelled in conditions of heavy rain.
  • In cases of bad weather, we may conduct a safer half day course or change the tour content.
  • Kazaguruma tours reserves the right to cancel or change the tour due to bad weather.
Notes
  • There is no place to change your clothes during the tour.

  • If you are coming from Ishigaki Island
    Subject to change due to weather and sea conditions.
  • From April to October 15
    Please buy a ferry ticket to Uehara port at Anei Kanko in Ishigaki port. The ferry to Uehara port leaves at 7:00 am and arrives at Uehara port around 7:50 am. When you arrive at Uehara port, please go to the toilet beforehand and wait in front of the building. Our staff will come to pick you up holding our sign.

    In rare cases, the service to Uehara port will be suspended. For example, an approaching typhoon or influence of strong northerly wind and so on. In that case, take the ferry going to Ohara port instead of Uehara port. After that, take Anei Kanko shuttle bus from Ohara port to Uehara port.
    Note: You need buy ferry ticket and bus ticket in order to make Anei Kanko shuttle bus possible. Please ask at the Anei Kanko ferry desk for details.
  • From October 16 to March
    Please buy a ferry ticket to Uehara port at Yaeyama Kanko Ferry in Ishigaki port. The ferry to Uehara port leaves at 8:00 am and arrives at Uehara port around 9:00 am. When you arrive at Uehara port, please go to the toilet beforehand and wait in front of the building. Our staff will come to pick you up holding our sign.
