I don't have any experience with kayaking and hiking.

Can I use a rental kayak?

Sorry, you can only use our kayaks on the tour.

Does kayaks overturn?

Don’t worry about it. Our kayaks are very stable. But you must wear a life jacket for safety.

Will the tour go ahead in bad weather?

If the weather is bad, we will call you by phone early in the morning (about 6:30 am – 7:30 am) and explain the situation at the tour site.
When we go to the site, if the weather changes suddenly, we must stop our tour. This is for your own safety, so you must follow your guide’s instructions at all times.

Do you run tours during the winter?

Yes, We run tours every day.

I am a pregnant woman. Can I join a tour?

Sorry, you can’t, and any participating children must be at least 5 years old.

I am sick. Will it be OK?

Sorry, you can’t. If you are not confident with in your physical condition, we don’t recommend our tours.

Clothing and equipment

What should I wear for the tour?

Hot season (April to October)
T-shirt and shorts are OK.
You can swim in the waterfall basin, so you should put on a swimsuit before starting your tour. There is no place to change during the tour, so please put on your bathing suit under your clothes.
If you are worried about sunburn or injuries, you should wear long sleeve shirts and long trousers.

Autumn / Winter season (November to March)
The weather is quite cool during the autumn and winter on Iriomote Island, because it is often windy, so you should wear a wind breaker.

Which is better, a T-shirt or long sleeve shirt?

We think that long sleeve shirts are better than T-shirts. But if you are not worried about being sunburned or small scratches, it’s OK to wear a T-shirt.

Will my clothes get wet or dirty?

When you kayak, you can get wet and dirty. Also, near the waterfall or if it rains. Please wear suitable clothes that you don’t mind getting wet and/or dirty.

I want to rent shoes. Is this possible?

No problem. You can use our shoes for free. Click here for more details.

What do I need to bring with me?

You should bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and drinking water, especially during the summer.
In addition, a towel, a waterproof backpack, and a change of clothes. You can change your clothes at our shop.

Where can I change my clothes?

You need to change your clothes before starting the tour. If you want to swim in the waterfall basin, you must wear a swimsuit.
There is nowhere to change at the waterfall basin, so after swimming, you will have to wipe down your body with a towel, and put your clothes back on.

Can I bring a camera on the tour?

Yes, you can, but we cannot be responsible for any breakages.
Please use a waterproof bag.

Is there a place to put valuables?

There is a security locker at our shop, and it is free to use. We will also take care of any large baggage you have.

When and where can I buy a ticket for Uehara port?

You can buy the ticket at Ishigaki port on the morning of the tour. Anei-Knko Uehara-port

There are three companies in Ishigaki port. Anei Kanko, Yaeyama Kanko and Ishigaki Dream Kanko.We recommend Anei Kanko, because they have some buses that go to Uehara port in case of suspension of service for Uehara port. Anei Kanko

During the peak season, we advise going to Ishigaki port early, or you can reserve your ticket until the day before.

Ishigaki Dream Kanko Free Pass Ticket
During Golden Week, and from July to September you cannot participate on our tour with this ticket. During other seasons you can sometimes participate on our tour. Please call us for more information.

Yaeyama Kanko Free Pass Ticket
In case of suspension of the ferry service to Uehara port, you must get on a bus for Uehara port from Ohara port. There are fewer Yeyama Kanko busses than Anei Kanko busses, so we recommend Anei Kanko.

I have an Ishigaki Dream Kanko ticket. What kind of tour can I participate in?

Basically, you cannot participate in our tours, but you might be able to participate during the quiet seasons.

Can I go back to Ishigaki Island on the same day?

Yes, you can. You can go back to Ishigaki Island after every tour.

Can I go back to Taketomi Island or Kohama Island on the same day?

Only if you are taking part in the “Mangrove kayaking & waterfall fun” tour.

Does your company have parking spaces?

Yes, we do, and they are free for customers.

 Cancellations or changing the day of your tour

If I cancel the tour on the tour day, do I have to pay a cancellation fee?

If I want to change the tour day, is it possible?

Please give us as much notice as possible. If we can do it, it will be no problem.

I want to cancel my tour because a typhoon is approaching Iriomote Island. Is it OK? Is there a cancellation fee?

Don’t worry about it. If a typhoon is approaching Iriomote Is, you should cancel your tour. See you next time!

I want to cancel the tour because it is raining. Is it OK? Is there a cancellation fee?

We will decide on cancelling the tour or continuing in cases of rainy conditions. If we agree to the cancellation, you don’t need to pay a cancellation fee.
If you only want to participate on our tour in good weather, you should reserve up until 8 pm the day before.

 Reasons for cancellation.

How do you decide to stop the tour when it is bad weather?

Guides will check the weather news at the Japan Meteorological Agency. If there are warnings issued.
If it has been raining continuously since the day before the tour, and water levels are higher than usual.
If there is thunder and lightning.
When a typhoon comes to Iriomote Island, it is possible that services for Uehara port and Ohara port will be suspended. In such cases, all tours are canceled. Nara falls kayaking & trekking , Adanade falls kayaking & river trekking

We think it is important to check the website of the Japan Meteorological Agency. If we know the bad weather news the day before the tour, at that time we may decide to cancel the tour. If we decide to stop the tour that morning, we will call you by phone between 6:30am and 7:30am.
